I have worked for over ten years in the theater as an actress, director and researcher. I have hung lights, directed, published papers, painted sets, distributed postcards, talked in conferences, struggled for funding, produced, stage managed, acted, dramaturged. And I have been fortunate to travel a lot, see a lot of performance and meet and work with people from so many different backgrounds: Europe, Canada, South Africa, New York. After all these years and experiences, I know that theater and the performing arts is the air I breathe. Through little triumphs and failures, and a lot of soul-searching I have grown conscious what my role is and what I want it to be: I am an artist, an intellectual, a cultural actor. I believe passionately in the power of the arts in changing the world and I see it as my responsibility to work and advocate for the importance of culture, of allowing people to experience and create beauty, in any way I am capable of: by acting in a work I believe in, by staging my own work in my own terms, by writing about theater, or by facilitating other people to create and disseminate their work. As my journey goes on and brings to me always new things, I hope I will keep on meeting interesting and exciting people, discover new artists and collaborators and continue dreaming big!
